Draytek Vigor 2850Vn crashing

I've been running a Draytek Vigor 2850Vn for a few years, and it's generally been rock solid. Recently however, I've noticed that if wi-fi is being heavily used (e.g. big download), it drops out (device loses connection for about 30 seconds or so). If it is allowed to continue running without a restart, the drops become more frequent over the following days, wi-fi throughput slows to a crawl, before eventually the wi-fi drops altogether, and connecting to the web interface via ethernet fails (no response). At this point regular ethernet traffic still works, including remote port forwarding rules, and YouView IPTV. The only solution to get wi-fi back or the web interface to respond is to turn it off and on again.

Has anyone else run into this? Is it a firmware bug that's getting triggered by a newer device on the network, is the router or its PSU dying?

Re: Draytek Vigor 2850Vn crashing

Have you tried the Draytek UK support?

Depending on circumstances they also had a trade in scheme for the 2850 to get a 2860 at reduced cost

I am the satisfied customer....
