Hi,
Today my Sky service moved to plus net. I bought a Technicolor TG582n FTTC and plugged it in but my adsl broadband service doesn't have a green light. I can reinstate the sky router and it still works so I wonder if I bought the wrong router, or should it work on adsl? Thanks in advance. (ps fibre isn't an option for me)

If the Technicolor 582n is running the 10.2.5.2 firmware, it can easily be switched between FTTC and ADSL modes.

MANY THANKS for a clear and current answer.
I am running V8 so I need to upgrade. The router has a USB and is FTTC but I need to switch to ADSL. Does it matter which one of these I choose please EO or FO?
Plusnet - ADSL - TG582n-PS (without USB port) - 10.2.2.B <=== I have a USB port, so no?
Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 8.C.M.0 <== What it appears to be using now?
Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 10.2.5.2.EO <==== ?
Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 10.2.5.2.FO<==== ?

Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 10.2.5.2.FO<==== ?

Nope it's this one
Plusnet - ADSL - TG582n-PS (without USB port) - 10.2.2.B
Unless you want to use the USB port either of the two Fibre ones will work but the ADSL one has the least amount of messing around.

Someone else mentioned that when using a non-USB firmware on a model with a USB port, it somehow did not work properly.
10.2.5.2 FO is the latest version and I think is what many people were remotely upgraded to, however it does a bug where the 4th LAN port does not work when switched to ADSL mode. EO does not have that bug.

Do NOT use the 10.2.2.B firmware on the USB model it has a multitude of issues too complicated to remember and explain (and it was a while ago when I tested).
In view of the issue raised by ejs, use the 10.2.5.2.EO version, that works OK.
