Does BT Smart Hub 6 work on Plusnet?

Read somewhere recently, in a BT smart hub 6 review article, that the hub 6 would only work if you were a BT subscriber.   Since PlusNet is owed by BT, will the hub 6 work on a PlusNet supplied circuit? (for me).

I am using fibre to cabinet circuit.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
