Which model of Plusnet router are you using?
https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/router-setup-guides/
When you quoted 'broadband channel', can you confirm you meant to say 'wireless channel number' ?
What web browser are you using (eg. Safari by any chance?)

I believe the symptoms you have described with the 2704n when using Safari is a known issue.
The solution is simply use an alternative web browser such as Chrome on your Apple devices to successfully change any settings on your 2704n router.
