Re the DHCP lease being long, I did have this set at 21 days as I saw this recommended in another thread. Now the router has been factory reset it's back to 1 day.

I also did some 'nslookup' tests and whilst none of the requests timed out, this came up:

nslookup bbc.co.uk
*** Default servers are not available
Server: UnKnown
Address: 127.0.0.1

Re: DNS Issue?

@Jherhome1 did that nslookup complete and return an IP ?

Did all the other nslookups complete ?

Re: DNS Issue?

@MisterW that one didn't complete and return an IP address. It does now though that I've restarted the router.

The other nslookups returned this, which I assume means they completed:

Re: DNS Issue?

The ipconfig reports look odd to me - but might be a red herring?

I believe (which means I might be mistaken) that if "(preferred)" is attached to an IP address it means that the address is static in the DHCP service.

Therefore it seems odd that the device should have two different "preferred" addresses ... and I note that the DHCP lease period is now 24 hours, not 22 days.

@Jherhome1

that one didn't complete and return an IP address. It does now though that I've restarted the router.

The other nslookups returned this, which I assume means they completed:

that does indicate the problem is with the routers internal dns server

I'd suggest adding a post in this thread https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/DNS-Issues/td-p/1745510/page/8 and asking Bob for the trial firmware
