Connecting to a VDSL modem

Do any members on here use a VDSL modem for connection rather than a modem/router?

Reason I ask is I am investigation some network issues and have set my TP-Link TD-W9970 temporarily as a modem, status page says it is correctly set up and connected.

Problem is I cannot successfully connect an individual computer to it, has anyone used a PPPoE client or command line to connect?  If so would appreciate the settings, I'm suspecting it might have something to do with the VID of 101

Re: Connecting to a VDSL modem

Have you set the 9970 to bridge mode ?

In bridge mode you should be able to connect to a lan port and make a pppoe connection

Theb9970 will handle the vlan id
