Connecting an external storage device to Hub One

Hi

I've just received my Plusnet Hub One and I would like to connect a WD MyBook hard drive to it via USB. It is 1TB. However, when I do and log in to the router, it says file type not supported. From the research I have been able to do on the internet it seems that there may be a restriction in terms of GB for devices, or there is a restriction on the power draw on the USB port (500MA) and the device can't exceed this. 

I haven't been able to ascertain the power draw of the MyBook I have, but I wondered if anyone is able to clear this up for me? If at least to confirm that there isn't a restriction in terms of GB. I also have the device partitioned, so I wonder if perhaps this is the problem? Should I format it?

Thank you for your query regarding the USB port on the Plusnet Hub One router. To clarify this for you there aren't any limits in terms of capacity for the file system but the maximum power draw on the port is 500mA so the HDD/Storage device can't exceed this.

Just a thought.

I wonder if the Hub One expects the drive to be formatted FAT 32.

Larger drives used with a Windows PC are normally not FAT32.

It can handle NTFS.

I think it's NTFS but will check.

One thing that confuses me is this power draw thing. The drive is powered by mains electricity.
