Can't login to my router.

So i never had this problem before the electricity stopped. After the electricity came back i can't login to my router. It just says Unable to connect to this page. My default gateway is 192.168.1.1. My router is Technicolor tg582n.

Oh and for the record my internet is now extremely slow (1mbps).Before the electricity stopped it was (8mbps). And the ping is quite high.

Re: Can't login to my router.

Isn't the default gateway on one of those routers 192.168.1.254 ?
I must have been really bad in a previous life as this was my 3rd ISP in a row that used lithium.
Now you're stuck with me because my new ISP doesn't run a forum Cheesy

Re: Can't login to my router.

I changed it to 192.168.1.1 a while ago.

EDIT: It still doesn't makes sense because before the electricity stopped i had good download speeds and ping and now is very bad .

Re: Can't login to my router.

It sounds like there’s been a power surge. Is your device you’re using connecting over WiFi to the router or via ethernet? Also do you have another router you can try?

Re: Can't login to my router.

I'm using wifi on a laptop. I just did a speedtest and the speeds are back so there is no problem.

For now.

Re: Can't login to my router.

If you still can't log in it could be that the router has restarted and set the IP address back to 192.168.1.254. If that doesn't work then do a factory reset with a paperclip in the hole. This should return it to the default IP address from where you can set it up again from scratch
