Can I Get My Router Upgraded?

Can I please get a new router as mine is the original Thomson one I received when I joined Plusnet in 2011 and the only room I can get wifi is the living room where it is sitting the rest of the flat is a deadzone, very annoying!!  Even then the wifi drops out while I'm looking at it and the speed is dead slow and can take ages for a page to load.

@Berni967

Probably cheaper to buy one from any online supplier.

Plusnet will sell you one for P&P of £6.99 IF you have re-contracted within the last 3 months

Plusnet will sell you one for P&P of £6.99 IF you re-contract

Plusnet will sell you one for £100

Re: Can I Get My Router Upgraded?

Are there specific routers that work with plusnet broadband or can I just buy any from ebay or somewhere?

@Berni967

The type of device depends partly on which of Plusnet's services you get. Are you

  1. an ADSL customer
  2. an FTTC customer
  3. a Plusnet TV customer

Re: Can I Get My Router Upgraded?

A good list of FTTC modem/routers is found at http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,14436.0.html which also includes a discussion about them.

A lot of these are also backward compatible with ADSL too.

If you have Plusnet TV, then the router would need to support IPTV too.

There is nothing special about Plusnet's own devices if you take into account the above. You are free to use your own device.

A startinghttp://www.broadbandbuyer.com/store/wifi-routers/adsl-wifi-routers-ac/ point for pricing and ideas on ADSL WiFi look at
