Block ALL connections apart from.....

Hi.

I know you can use access control to block certain devices from connecting at specific times, but is there a way to block all devices from connecting at specific times, apart from one or two named devices?

In other words, using Access Control the other way around.

I have the standard Plusnet router.

Thanks

Samo

Thanks for your post @Samop

We're sorry for the delayed response.

Whilst you're not able to block all via the router interface, you are able to do it via Plusnet Safeguard.

Re: Block ALL connections apart from.....

Thanks,

But, hmmm, Plusnet Safeguard isn't what I need... that is a straight filtering or blocking traffic for everyone.

What I want to do is to block the internet at certain times for all devices EXCEPT two specific ones.

I could use Access Control but that works by identifying devices by their MAC address and it's really easy to spoof the MAC address to bypass the block, so I really want to pre-empt that attempt..

Any other thoughts?

You could connect your two devices via Ethernet and kill the hub wireless at specific times. If your two devices are wireless then connect a WAP to the router Ethernet port and use a different SSID and password on the WAP.

Thanks for getting back to us.

I'm afraid that there isn't anything we offer that can do that.

There may be 3rd party royuters out there that offer this but I'm afraid we're not able to give out any specific models or support
