The TP-Link has definitely been hit with the ugly stick but I can hide that out of sight I guess so I'll probably go down that route.
It certainly has!. It's modem is almost as good as the (industry best) HG612. I've used one in the past in bridge mode. If you go that way, shout up if you need any help setting it up, although its pretty simple.
I've been used to RJ45 into the premises which makes for easy choices.
If you think of the modem, connected to the phone line, as providing the RJ45 you are used to, then that's about it.
