BT Smart Hub Firmware

Hello all,

This is probably a silly question, but I've just bought a BT Smart Hub and noted the firmware is pretty old. After some digging there appears to have been a few updates since mine, dated 12-May-2016. Updates are dished out automatically by BT, but is this only to BT customers, or does the device simply periodically check and download itself regardless of the ISP providing the connection?

I think you have to be a BT Customer to get firmware updates and it's done on their side.

If it's anything like he previous Hubs, it will update on any BTW provided network, including PN. They do sometimes take a while though.

Just to let anyone know that may be interested, my Smart Hub's firmware was automatically updated last night to firmware version: SG4B10002236

I was going to use my Smart hub 6 as a spare because I thought that I would not get auto firmware updates not being with BT, well what a surprise, I got an update on the 30th Oct. So now I have decided to keep the Smart Hub. Version: SG4B10002236

That's not true. Mine updated 7th. Dec.    SG4B1000223E
