BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet

Hi,

Within the last week or so I connected my brand new Home Hub 5 to PlusNet without any problems. Any further settings do I need to change or disable in either the router admin settings or on the plusnet login website to make the most out of the router and compatibility with plusnet?

Any further optimisations I can do in the router settings or plusnet member login website?

What is the latest firmware version for this router and how do I update it?

Can PlusNet please check my line to see everything is ok just to make sure and report graph showing graphs/charts etc.

Thanks,

A good tip is make sure you turn off BT FON, or other BT users will be able to use your WiFi.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet

Ok got that.

Apart from that is there anything else I need to do?

Also what is the latest firmware version for this router and how do I update it?

Finally I like to say that recently one of the kids accidently pulled the router plug out of the wall socket. Then I connected it back straight away upon noticing this however I notice the performance gone slower after this. Why is that? Is it because of PlusNet Auto Digital Line Management DLM or my profile is adjusted by PlusNet because of this accident?

Re: BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet

Your router will be updated in due course if there is any updates, the router software will still call home every now and then.

As for speeds, DLM is unlikely to alter sync speed after one disconnect, but you may want to post info from the Troubleshooting/Helpdesk page, hiding any personal info like your user name.

but what is it you have an issue with? How are you testing? What site to?

Re: BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet

Who knows I may had have 2-3 disconnects while I'm out the house or something.

My issue is slower speed. ookla speedtest says im getting 10meg speed and 0.6meg upload now. Before the accidental disconnect I was getting 13meg speed and 1meg upload. This is definitely a decrease in speed.

So DLM is involved in this?

When will I get my full speed back to normal like before?

Without further info its hard to say, first thing would be to share the Troubleshooting page, and see what that shows up.

One of the PN staff may be able to see if you are having frequent disconnects.

Log onto the HH5 (the default address should be http://192.168.1.254 ) and click the link "TroubleShooting" on the top right of the HH5 webpage

Re: BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet

There should be a section marked "Helpdesk" which will list the details of your connection which I believe @Mustrum was asking about in message 8 in this thread ...

Copy and paste the info on here, hiding any personal info like your username.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 Type B on PlusNet

So looking at the details, the line speed is shown as 15.67Mbps down and 1.11Mbps up.

You were asking about speed tests earlier in this thread, is the speed test result now closer to those speeds?
