BT Business Smart Hub versions

Are there any differences between the versions of the business smart hubs.

I bid on an item on Ebay which was listed as Item Code: 088317 but I received a 088315

I want to use it on plusnet FTTC.  Any differences worth worrying about?

Re: BT Business Smart Hub versions

I believe any BT Smart Hub (6) version will work with FTTC and ADSL  with plus net or BT

The Business BT Smart Hub (6)  Version will also work but  just allows you to alter some extra settings in the  Home Hub Manager settings.

If you need FTTP then you need the hub version with the red sticker on the 4th port on  the rear (These are unusual to see  for sale on the For Sale websites but do pop up now and again )

Re: BT Business Smart Hub versions

Thanks.  I had read those threads, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.

Unfortunately the one I bought is shrink rapped so I can't open it to verify what it is.

Beneath the item code it says BTB EI/SI 1.0 (088315)

On the auction listing it shows :BTB EI FTTP 1.0 (but is a 088317)

Not sure what these mean but it could be that the item code on its own is not enough to determine whether it is FTTC or FTTP.

I think I am worrying over nothing as it will be a big improvement over the TGN router I  currently use.

Fix

As I said in my Post

Any Version will work if needed just for FTTC .

If it is the FTTP version with red sticker on 4th Port  and you want to hardwire then use ports 1 to 3.

Re: BT Business Smart Hub versions

Thanks,

To set up ,      see # 41 here

https://community.plus.net/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/Broadband/page/3/thread-id/306720

Once set up the Smart Hub should automatically update  firmware and security updates in time.
