I appear to have a more primitive(restrained) version of the router.
The fedora box is unknown. the pcwin7 is a windows7 box (firewall turned on). I can't click on anything in that page.
Right after startup, the fedora box shows with its proper name that the dhcp client sends to the router.
After a while it disappears from the list of reappears as unknown.
The URL is http://192.1681.254. I wonder if there is a more detailed URL with an edit mode?
Yes I wanted the device's name in the router's home network page, and more importantly on the DNS server (which is on the router).

I can't comment on early PN routers
As i mentioned earlier, these are before my time with PN
Have you looked under 'advanced settings' then 'home network'
