(Ancient) Thomson T585 router - wifi signal disappearing

Hi,

My grandparents are also Plusnet customers and have had a quietly reliable service for years now, but in the last week their Thomson T585 router (remember them!) has started dropping wifi. The wireless signal just disappears and the only way they have to get back online is rebooting the router, but even then it doesn't always come back on and it will drop out again within 30 minutes or so.

They only have an iPad and the router, they are not tech savvy, and so what-with the current lockdown meaning I can't go round to help we don't have much in the way of options for diagnosis. I'm fairly sure the problem lies with the router though as the phone is working fine and all the lights on the router stay green/lit, except for the wireless one.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm really hoping someone from Plusnet sees this and can arrange to send out a new router for them. The Thomson must be a security liability by now!

Sorry to hear that. From one side it is impressive that router is still working. From other, it should be changed years ago.

Can you please send me Private Message with username of your grandparents account? I will have a look and arrange new one if this will be possible.
