Amazon Fire TV connection problems and the 2704n router

After a number of Amazon Fire Stick replacements, all of which have had problems connecting to WiFi through my 2704n router, I have come to the conclusion that the router is the problem. Any advice how to proceed? Thank in anticipation.

What signal strength are you seeing on the stick? Sometimes simply rotating your router by 45 degrees can make a big difference (especially models with internal aerials).

What exactly is the problem?
Is it an authentication problem where you can't login? Can't see the router to connect with? something else?

I can see the router and get a full signal strength. I'm unable to login with my password.

I get full signal strength. The physical separation is about 1.5m with some DVDs in the way. Moving the DVDs makes no difference.

Sorry if it seems to be a silly question but you are using the wireless password not the router log in one aren't you?

Certainly am. And no issues of mistyping, case or even the correct password as it shows on the screen, has been checked within the router settings and has worked until something within the settings blocked the connection.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with connecting your device to your WI-FI. Please could advise if you are experiencing the same issue with other devices? If not can you please try the stick on an alternative WI-FI source to rule out an issue with the device.

All my other WiFi devices connect with no problem. I have put an old Huawei HG633 router from Talktalk on and it is working fine so far with all devices including the fire stick. Failures had all occurred within three days so I shall monitor this situation. If it is stable after a week I shall test the original fire stick (over 1 year old) to see if it Is, indeed, broken.

Can you connect by pressing the wifi button on the router?
