Re: 5ghz Dropping out randomly and regularly

thanks for the clarification @Manickbarry42

Was it because you used the utility and saw that the channel used was busy?

Do you remember what the channel was, and what you changed it too?

All information we can gather might help others in solving their similar probs.

- My ref about editing was aimed at one of the mods with a penchant for deleting quotes and detracting from the clarity of questions not you 🙂

@Manickbarry42@mandyflood & @Superdario - I've upgraded all of your devices to the latest firmware build. They will have restarted briefly to apply the update so apologies if you were in the middle of anything.

Re: 5ghz Dropping out randomly and regularly

  • Just checked the channel number and for some reason it reverted back to auto smart (channel 40). Before it was auto on 36 I selected 124, seems stable now on 40 but when I try selecting another channel it keeps reverting back to auto 🤪

Re: 5ghz Dropping out randomly and regularly

124 is a DFS regulated channel. If nearby activity is detected on the same frequency then the router is programmed to switch away from it - https://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-763.html

Re: 5ghz Dropping out randomly and regularly

@bobpullen Thank you very much, i have had a look and after reconnecting all devices i can see them all connecting to the 5Ghz and so far so good. Just wondering if it is still a good suggestion to split up the 2.4 and 5Ghz.

Thanks again for everyones help, will keep you posted on how it performs.

Glad to hear it!

Regarding the splitting of the networks, it's up to you. If it ain't broke though... Wink
