2740 router won't let me connect multiple devices

I have just bought some smart bulbs and plug to go with other household devices so now have over 12 connected devices. This seems to stop certain devices connecting so I now have lights which periodically don't work or phones and laptops which won't connect to the WiFi. It's very frustrating when working from home to have to constantly switch to 4G backup connection. Is there an alternative router which you might be able to send me which can handle more than 12 devices?

@acecase Welcome to the forums. Plusnet are unlikely to send you an alternative router, but for all-round better performance, and to solve this issue, spend £20-£25 on a BT HH6 router off eBay. These work with PN, and configuration/set-up details are documented on the 'My Router' board on this forum.

I'm sorry to see you're having issues connecting more than 12 devices to your router, this is unfortunately a limitation of the router. In the past for these instances, our products team have been happy to send an upgraded router so I've arranged this now and you should receive it within the next 3 to 5 working days.

New router arrived today, easy setup, changed the SSID to match the old one so I didn't have to go round resetting my devices, and now everything is connected (16 devices!) Everything is working fine, I think possibly even faster than before but maybe that's just time of day. Thanks for sorting my problem.
