2.4 GHz Wireless Configuration: Wireless interface type

802.11 b/g/n

In the choices of:   up to 54 Mb/s, up to 144 Mb/s, up to 300 Mb/s

Say I have 5 devices that will connect on 2.4 Ghz.

Assuming all of them are compatible with 802.11 b/g/n,

Am I safe choosing up to 300 Mb/s? And each device will communicate wirelessly with the router up to its capability?

Or do I have to stay on "up to 144 Mb/s"?

Is there a config on the device side to allow "up to 300 Mbits/s" ?

Rds,

Re: 2.4 GHz Wireless Configuration: Wireless interface type

All your devices should be ok with that setting. Just for your info, the ‘up to 300’ option actually uses two wireless channels on the 2.4 ghz band, so pretty much uses most of the available bands (taking into account 1, 6 and 11, the recommended channels).

sorry I don't understand fully.

Do I gain/lose anything by changing the Hub 1 config from "up to 144"  to "up to 300" ?

Fix
You may gain a little bit more WiFi speed but you will lose open channels for neighbours to use (kind of like playing music louder). If not really any neighbours around then there’s no real loss in changing it.
