upgrade to fibre from broadband - idiots guide

Hi all - I have been on the PlusNet site for over an hour trying to understand what happens after you place your order to upgrade from Broadband to Fibre.  I have had to buy a new router - I understand that.  It will come in the post.  Great.  But what the heck happens next.  

PlusNet you are rubbish at explaining what customers can expect to happen.  

Anyone care to enlighten me????

@Joanna26  Welcome to the forum.

In a nutshell what.should happen is that Plusnet send you a free router, you just pay P&P.

When the changeover occurs you should get a text to advise. The Internet will cut off for an hour or so. All you do is unplug your current Hub and plug the new one in it’s place.

The only other thing you will need to do is reconnect your wireless devices using the new SSID and password shown on a pull out card on the back of the Hub.

Thank you very much indeed for your reply.  That is really really helpful.  I could not find anything on their site.  Now I understand.  

Wondering if you know the answer to this one - if my TV is a smart TV will I have to get it to recognise the new router?

Fingers crossed my router arrives before they do the switch over.

Joanna In your TV in network settings you should see the plusnet router when its all working, just put the password in on your tv and it should be all good.
