"Your service is ready to use": Connected to broadband but no Internet

Dear community,

In late September I became a Broadband+Phone line user, paying the full contract in advance. While the Engineer appointment isn’t scheduled until next week, I received 3 days ago an email stating tha my service was ready to use, with an assigned telephone number. As I managed to get hold of an old Plusnet router (2704n) I thought why not to try if it was already up and running. To my surprise though, even after connecting in the router setting with my username @plusdsl.net and the appropriate password and the broadband LED being on, I cannot connect to the Internet (with its LED turned off).

Is there anyway Plusnet could activate my Internet access?

It looks like the broadband order hasn't been placed.
