joining tomorrow?

Hi

 

I signed up on 22 March for ADSL, my old ISP TalkTalk says my switch over day is 6 April and their service will end then (Tomorrow!)

 

I have had no messages from plusnet and can't get through on the phone of chatbot.

 

Will the plusnet service start tomorrow?

 

When will the router arrive?

My TalkTalk line is still working, though I'm expecting it to drop at any minute.

 

Still no words from Plusnet.

 

I my connection is cut off from TalkTalk, how am I supposed to communicate with Plusnet with no internet and no phone line?

 

This is very poor, a simple message about what happening would be nice.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, we're advising against bumping threads as it's against forum rules and causes further delays in picking up posts. 

 

It looks like TalkTalk have ceased the service unfortunately and that's stopped our orders from progressing. We'll need to get new orders placed for you to activate new services.

Still no word from Plusnet about when the switch over will happen.

 

I do get messages from TalkTalk, say they are happy I'm staying with them!

 

TalkTalk are now charging me £30 a month for ADSL because I'm out of contract.

 

Should I cancel the order and try another ISP?

Hey!

 

Just got a message from Plusnet!

 

"

Hope you are well,

I called and was unable to leave a voicemail the reason for my call,

Was to advise the orders we have placed have rejected due to our system failing to connect the broadband order with the phone order.

I can see you need an engineer visit for a new line installation.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the installation dates for internal line installations are starting from the beginning of June due to the new rules that Openreach have put in place to protect their engineers and our customers. If you'd like to proceed with the new line installation please keep this information in mind.

We shall try placing your order again in 24 hours.

If this error appears to happen again we shall do a phone only order once this complete we shall then place a broadband order . We shall only do this at the 3rd attempt of ordering.

I don't know why I need an engineer, ADSL to ADSL should just be a switch over, anyway, something is happening!

I'm not sure why that advice was given as I can see there's an active line which we can take over.

I've replaced the orders for you as my colleagues orders had failed and we'll confirm a transfer date in the next 24 to 48 hours

Just to let people know...

 

I got the following email today 16 April - I signed up 22 March, so you are looking at 5 to 6 weeks wait even for ADSL to ADSL switchover, that is assuming it actually happens!

 

"Your broadband order is now being processed.
 
Your service is due to go live on 30/04/2020. Your order could complete any time on this date, up to midnight.

Just an update
My talkTalk connection dropped at about 11am today, so I connected my Plusnet router, and went out shopping.
When I came back at about 2:15 pm the Connection was working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Yay, only SIX WEEKS waiting!
