do i need to be in for engineer visit?

fibre optic broadband due to be connected tomorrow. this is the first time we will have fibre optic. do we need to be in for the engineer visit? its supposed to be between 8-1 tomorrow but need to know if i need someone in while i do the school run.

Looks like no PlusNet reps have spotted your post, assuming you are having FTTC installed the engineer does not visit the house, the changes are done externally. It is called a self install. Just connect your VDSL2 modem to the BT socket  (with a filter if you do not already have a filtered faceplate)  Hope this helps.

Welcome to the community forums @redronkers.

 

Apologies this wasn't responded to yesterday, however the advice given by RealAleMadrid is correct. You should not need to be available for the fibre to be activated.

 

I'm not entirely sure why you've been advised 8am-1pm, but the orders (Both the phone and broadband) could complete any time up until midnight tonight.
