Why is it taking so long to connect a phone line?

On Monday 11th an engineer came out and was unable to connect the phone line. After hearing nothing back I spoke to an advisor Wednesday 18th. She promised me that she would contact the suppliers the next day to rearrange another visit and would be in touch with an update on when another engineer would be able to come out and sort out the problem. She raised a ticket but couldn’t be bothered get back in touch and I have since heard nothing! I’ve paid for the whole month including the set up charge, we’re now fast approaching the end of the month and still nothing!
As I can not get through on the phone, can someone tell me what is going on?

Try CHAT facility, but turn off any browser pop up blocker first.

Thanks, however I have tried that and just get told to ring a number, of which I cannot get through to anyone.

Hi there.
Sorry for the delayed update.
I've chased this up with Openreach and I've been advised that the engineer identified a fault underground that needs traffic management which takes 5 working days for an update from when it was submitted on the 12/02/2019.
We should have another update in a couple of days and we'll keep you posted via ticket 187432030.
