What happens if my hub doesn't arrive in time for switchover

Perhaps I'm being over cautious but I ordered an upgrade from adsl to fibre yesterday, my email states the switch should take place next Tuesday (5th Dec), another email states my hub will take 3 to 5 working days to arrive after dispatch (when ever dispatch may be) - this seems rather close to the switchover.
If my hub doesn't arrive in time, after switchover will I still be able to use my current hardware to receive standard adsl or will I be without internet?

Which router are you using at the moment?
If it is not a VDSL router, then you will be without internet if the new one does not turn up.
Perhaps @Gandalf or another staff member can let you know if it has been shipped.

Its not VDSL, its a PN Thompson TG585 V8

Are you sure that is a confirmed switchover date (i.e. confirmed by a response from BT openreach) or just PlusNet's requested date which doesn't mean a lot. It seems pretty quick to me. There are many posts on here where FTTC upgrades are delayed by shortage of BT engineers to do the changeover.

I'm not sure of anything I only requested the change yesterday evening on Live Chat and received an almost immediate email saying
" We've received your product change request and have now started the process of moving your products to:
• | Broadband package: Unlimited Fibre (Without Phone) |
• | Contract: 24 months |
• | Hardware: None |
This will change over on 5th December 2017 and your new cost per month will be £17.49.
and then a later email confirming the hub purchase - so I assumed the changeover date was as given

Ok, my hub has arrived this morning @Gandalf if you could confirm the switchover date is still next Tuesday that would be good.

Edit: Just realised the 9th is a Saturday, do engineers work weekends?
