Using mobile sim for home broadband

Hi all, new to the forum.
Was going to switch to full fibre but the engineer who came didn't know where the line entered my property and advised I would have to have some of my drive dug up to gain access for the fibre. However wherever they enter the house is not near a socket. They have said i could use a mobile sim in a different router. Has anyone tried this?

@Rph That sounds almost unbelievable - not saying you are wrong in what you say, but the engineer should be able to trace your connection.

I assume you have an underground feed?

What does https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL say below the availability matrix?

Re: Using mobile sim for home broadband

Hi,
Availabilty is fine already have virgin and swish running up the street, but would have to dig in my garden to find the connection into my house. I am surprised they couldn't trace it back from the box in my house.

What about the Openreach fibre network, though - Plusnet can't/don't use the Virgin or Swish networks.

Don't know if they will have to dig the street up again.
Have you any thoughts on using a mobile sim, would have to buy a router and then £25.00 a month on rolling contract.

If you already have an OR connection, as I assume you have,  they will not have to dig the street up again - they use the current route.

I have no experience of mobile broadband, sorry.
