Upgrading from ADSL to Fibre (speed unchanged)

Hi,

Have previously been on ADSL with 8/1 Mbps speed.  A few days ago ordered an upgrade to Fibre.  New router has arrived.  Installed router and it is working fine.  However speed is so far unchanged.  I am guessing that a back-end process needs to complete (e.g. detecting that the new router is active and then upping the speed).  Can anyone confirm?

Cheers,

Steve

Re: Upgrading from ADSL to Fibre (speed unchanged)

@Frosty3140  I suspect the most likely explanation is that for some reason the upgrade has not happened or is delayed, it is not an automatic process, an Openreach person has to change connections in the telephone cabinet so it depends on engineers being available to do the work, it is nothing to do with connecting the router. Were you given an expected date for the upgrade? Only Plusnet staff will be able to confirm what has happened.

Re: Upgrading from ADSL to Fibre (speed unchanged)

Hey thanks for the reply.

I went back through the PlusNet emails and found this (which I had missed):

"This will change over on 1st June 2021."

Mea culpa.  I will wait until the new month and see what happens then.

Cheers,

Steve
