Upgrade to Unlimited Fibre Extra message.

I placed an order to upgrade to 'Unlimited Fibre Extra' and got the following message. Does this mean I will not be able to upgrade?

A modify order on this account was unsuccessful.

The reason given was "Self install is not a modifiable parameter.".

Modify order type:

An attempted move from ADSL 1 on WBC to ADSL2+An attempt to change the upstream capping
Please check why the order has been rejected and contact the customer.

It looks to me like the agent that you spoke to has totally screwed up by pressing the wrong buttons and tried to order the wrong thing. Hopefully a Plusnet staffer will come along and pick this up for you.

The order was placed via the 'Upgrade' option in my account online, so no human contact.

@Helmetfire  I have seen this a few times, it's PlusNet automated system messing up. Staff will need to place a manual order.

Let's hope then that they pick up on this quickly.

Then maybe they should sort out their 'broken' upgrade system.

Does anyone from Plusnet bother to read these posts... Not impressed by the so-called 'Customer Service', or 'Technical Support'.
