Switched to full fibre no landline

We have been having disconnection issues with our fibre since we switched. It constantly comes back that there is no faults or issues so I have just switched to full fibre with no phone line. My question is do I need a new router? We have the original router that was sent out to us when we first joined plusnet over 2 maybe 3 years ago? We didn’t originally have fibre when we joined we only got that about 6 months ago.
Many thanks

Re: Switched to full fibre no landline

Hi @Cr4zycow welcome to the forum.

What is the current Hub you are using? If it is a Hub Two, then it should be fine.

Easy way to check the model is to click this link http://192.168.1.254 (you need to be on your home network for this link to work)

HTH

Edit: Weren't you offered a new Hub as part of the upgrade to Full Fibre

@Cr4zycow

Just a bit of extra information, you need an extra Ethernet cable in place of the DSL cable supplied with the FTTC versions. This connects between the hub WAN socket and the new fibre ONT in place of the DSL cable between the hub and the BT master socket filter. Unless you have a cable kicking around it may be worth paying the hub delivery charge to get the cable and a spare hub.

Re: Switched to full fibre no landline

It says it’s a hub one. And no we never got offered any new router at all. I assumed we didn’t one as I would have thought they would send one out if we needed a new one. Is that what the issue will be?

@Cr4zycow

The Hub One will work (Red WAN port to the Openreach ONT port) but it has reduced wireless performance for faster Full Fibre products.

I would suggest speaking to Customer Options Team on  0800 013 2632 and request a Hub Two. There will be £6.99 p & p charge
