Prepaid Mastercard - ATM withdrawal?

I've not seen this answered anywhere. Can I withdraw cash with the prepaid Mastercard and get cashback at a till?
Or can I transfer the balance to another account/bank?

Thanks for getting in touch.

Prepaid MasterCard works in a similar way to any other MasterCard in that it can be used in shops, restaurants and to purchase online just like a credit or debit card. This is where the similarities end as the balance is not transferable to another card or account and you are not able to take cash out at a cash machine.

Surely then I can get cashback on the card in the supermarket as this is just a shop transaction, correct?

I've checked the terms and conditions for Purecard, which is the company that supply our pre-paid debit cards and I can confirm that the following restrictions apply:

"You can't use your card to withdraw cash, obtain cashback or foreign currency, or to pay at any kind of automated payment machine (such as CAT terminals, pay@pump, tolls, and car park or train ticket machines). You also cannot use your card for subscriptions, automated periodic payments or gambling; or for obtaining illegal goods or services. "

I believe that, when it comes to cashback, it won't give the cashier the option to select cashback on the register. I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. There's an FAQ about the card here, which you may find helpful.
