My contract start date is not until next week, however router is showing blue light and connecting to internet. It’s getting decent speeds and log shows it’s passing CHAPS authentication. Given this, I think BT have done their end early and I’m just waiting for Plusnet to activate the account on your systems.

Whilst your order is still showing as being in progress on our supplier's side based on what you've said I've activated the account on our end.
If you're still not able to get online can you try rebooting your router?

Thanks - that’s fixed it. Really appreciate you doing this on a Saturday night (was not expecting that after the phone tech support department repeatedly told me it couldn’t be done!). So excellent customer service.
