Phone switched today but Broadband not until tomorrow

I am currently switching from BT to PlusNet for my landline and broadband.

 

My telephone switched over this morning (email received at 05:30) and existing broadband has stopped working.  My switchover to PlusNet broadband is scheduled for tomorrow.  Does that mean I will have no broadband for all of today and potentially up to midnight tomorrow?

Sorry to hear this.

Unfortunately the delay is due to your current provider not releasing your number on time.

As we've had to re-request this it has to take 10 working days

Have they released the number now or are you still waiting ? from them can you update this is affecting our day to day stuff

and how long does it actually take to give a connection please could this be sorted out asap otherwise I am planning to escalate this to ofcom

It is quite possible that this problem is not of Plusnet's making.

For information: escalating a problem to Ofcom will result in a reply reading 'Thank you, your information will be passed to the relevant Ofcom team', then ziltch!

We've requested for the number to be transferred but these requests take 10 days due to the Ofcom conditions on transferring numbers.

I'm afraid there's no way we can speed this up

also I have checked it up with our previous provider who has confirmed they have released the phone number, phone services and ADSL on 21 Aug. Not sure whats happening with you guys. Please could this be escalated and looked it as its a bad service to us from day 1. which we didn't face with the other providers we had in the past!
