Phone date is before move-in, will that mess up current resident?

Hi, appologies if this has been answered elsewhere...

I've had an email saying Your new Home Phone service should be available on 28/7/2021.

I am moving in on 31/7/2021, so will the Plusnet number interfere with the current residents phone service?

As my service is the Unlimited Fibre Extra, is it just a normal phone line? I have had fibre before and thought is would be a separate connection.

Thanks,

Andy

@andyj4077  Welcome to the forum.

If you are taking over the existing service then yes it will use the existing line and cause the current owner to lose their current connection. Something not to be recommended without their permission!

Fix

Hi @andyj4077

We're restarting a stopped line at your property, so either the current residents are with virgin Media, or another provider that does not use the Openreach network, or they've already had the line stopped. Either way, their service will not be interrupted.
