New user: No dial tone?

My broadband and phone was just set up this moving (switched over from sky) but I don't have any broadband and when i went and bought a phone to check the dial tone there is none, not even from the master socket. I've had confirmation emails and texts to say it's ready to go, but I can't get online!! Help!!!
