Moving from Sky Fibre to Plusnet but retaining number

Good Evening,

First of all i'd like to apologise if this is the wrong forum section for this question, and if a Mod could move this if that is the case i'd be very grateful.

I'm currently looking at moving my phone and broadband services from Sky due to their atrocious customer service and massive issues during peak hours with ping spikes and speed drops, and i'd like Plusnet to be the gaining CP. 

I however have a number that was originally ported from Virgin Media to Sky(0114 249 range) that I would like to bring with me. I already have an MPF Line with Sky, Is it possible to move this to PlusNet but keep the number ?

If so could somebody advise how I would go about placing an order as when speaking with the sales rep on the phone he was unsure if I could keep the number.
