@RealAleMadrid I'm saying the pavers mentioned they'd extended the conduit but whether or not they have I do not know.

I don't see how the "pavers" could extend the conduit without disconnecting the cable.
It's not beyond the realms of possibility that when OR turn up to do the install they can't run the fibre cable and have to delay the install while another team gets booked to come out and fix the duct. If you're in the mood you could always dig down the edge of the paving to see the state of play with the duct / copper cable.
If the paving needs lifted then OR are responsible for putting it back in though in my experience it never quite looks the same.
Just out of interest how far from the edge of the paving does the duct end?

@Baldrick1 I'll await the call then and mention it to the engineer.

@bmc Who knows...but I know City Fibre had issues but they did little or no investigation and walked away. It wasn't until I had the path block paved this was uncovered....the cable then fed into into a 10mm conduit.
As mentioned in one of my other replies, from the edge of the conduit to the wall it's about 12 inches (but that my door/step area)....but if following the angle the cable needs to go at it about 36 inches.

Can you post a picture of the drive as it is now whith the end of the duct (per your previous picture) marked on it. Just to give us an idea of things.
The OR call is usually just to say "I'm on my way" - I'd wait until they arrive to discuss it with them. You confirm the location of the internal ONT and that they're happy with how things look.

This sounds like another problem. There are strict limits on the number of bends permitted on (2.5in) type 56 duct runs.

Short length of 'split conduit', flexible if required?

@RobPN It could be an extension with a flexible duct but 10mm has been mentioned, which sounds a bit tight. The existing phone cable would have to be removed. They will probably use it to pull the fibre through. It might work.🙄

I agree 10mm would definitely be a bit tight (pointless installing it really), but I was just suggesting that the duct could be extended without disconnecting the cable.

The end of the 50mm conduit ends roughly in the circled area (I cannot recall 100% the actual position)....then there is a gap of juns the cable before the 10mm conduit (if I recall about 30cm length)...all of which was under the original gravel/sand. It was certainly done like that by B.T I suspect in 1991 when the house was built.
You can see just to left in the 2nd picture where the cable just comes out of the ground and is behind a cover.
(I remember thinking I should have had a go at cleaning the 50mm conduit where the cable extruded)...I'm just hoping the workmen did manage to fit a flexible conduit with a cut like they said they would.
I'm certainly not taking time off for a visit that is pointless so I'll be contacting the orders department here tomorrow

Thanks for the pictures.
In the second picture is there a gap in the lock block (ie a missing block) where the OR protective shield is? They need to take that off to get to the cable.
It looks to be 50 / 50 as to whether or not the lock blocks need lifting. If the pavers did indeed sort the duct the FTTP installer migh be able to rod through to the end. If not, blocks will need to come up.

@bmc There is a gap because I oversaw what needed to be done (well at least telling the pavers what and how I wanted doing) but by the time I saw the finished job I didn't see them add the conduit so I'm going by honesty...I've had that shield off a number of times myself.
I know what needs to be done, it's more I was expecting a call or at least an email from OR to discuss a survey.......I just don't see how they can expect to arrive at a residential dwelling without any pre-visit. Taking up and reseating blocks that have been professional laid isn't simple case of lift and lay.

When you've taken the proctective shield off does it sit over a duct or does the cable comes straight out of the ground?

The reason is that OR records will suggest that the duct will terminate, as required by their duct installation instructions, above ground as shown in the photo in my previous post, not peter out under block paving.

I ended up cancelling in the end and went for the 3 5G Broadband......setup yesterday and I'm getting 985M/Bit d/l so we'll see how it goes. Very good ping on load/unloaded testing too. Early indications are excellent.
