Installation

Openreach was supposed to be installing a new phone socket for me today between 8am-1pm, but no one ever showed up.
Called up and was told to wait until 2pm still no one!
Called back again to be told that they never had to access the house it could be done externally.
This was all after my original appointment was changed from afternoon til morning and was told repeatedly that someone would have to be at home.
A wasted day taken off work.
It's now 17:37 and had no communication on what's going on at all if it has been done or not?

Not a good start for a new customer

Have you got a socket in your property?

Have you had an email to say your phone service has been completed?

If so do you have dial tone, can you call - dial 17070 if you don't want a charge.

Have you been informed your broadband is live?

If so plug your router is - do you have broadband.

 

If no to the questions - it can take up to midnight, so try again in the morning.

I've got a socket in the property unsure if it's working properly or not?

The answers to the other questions are no.

Thanks for your post @DRMack23 and welcome to our Community Forums.

I'm really sorry to see the engineer didn't turn up yesterday.

It looks like the engineer was able to carry out the work solely externally though I would've expected them to contact you as we weren't made aware that a visit wasn't required. Sad

Either way, I can see you're up & running now, and we've offered a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience. Smiley
