Re: Impossible to get through to you

Hello @mindmagic

It was myself who called you a couple of hours ago. Please do not be alarmed by the email you have received. I have your ticket on standby and will update you accordingly once I am able to place it on your account.

I do apologise it is taking a while for me to send this information across. The email will clarify what actions I have carried out. I am sorry if I was not clear on our call in what had to be done.

Once I have posted this on your account, I will notify you on this thread as well.

Thank you for your continued patience.

That happens to me too. Waste of time putting the details in every time only to have them deleted agin with the "nobody there" message.

Re: Impossible to get through to you

@Dumbledore I've just run a speed test and which showed 38.48 down and 9.54 up.

Just the phone line change to go! Thanks for your help.

Re: Impossible to get through to you

Hi @mindmagic

In terms of the speed question you've raised, I've tested your line and your connection is currently synced up at 40mb/s.

When you're testing it from your side, is that via wifi or via a wired connection?

Could you perform a wired speed test from the test socket of your premises (see below) and let me know the outcome?

Test socket advice here

Best wishes,

Dave

Re: Impossible to get through to you

Hi Dave

It's wifi, but there's notthing wrong with my signal or my equipment. I've been getting wild speed fluctuations all day; at a few times it's slowed to a trickle and once or twice it seemed to drop out altogether. I know that new fibre is supposed to take a couple of weeks to settle down, but it shouldn't drop out altogether.

One thing, though: I had a Ring Pro doorbell fitted yesterday. It's working OK. Could that be affecting my line?

Re: Impossible to get through to you

A BT engineer visited me last week, before the fibre upgrade, and told me there was a fault inside my house. It was traced to a call blocking device which has been removed. There should be nothing wrong with my line or my equipment.

Last night, after reading your message, a speed test showed 38. First thing this morning another test showed 23, and one just now came out at 1.69! Now, a couple of minutes later, it's showing as 23 again. @Dumbledore @RandallFlagg

Re: Impossible to get through to you

Thanks for the extra information.

Our tests still aren't showing any causes for this.

Is it possible for you to try a wired connection to see if that has the same fluctuations?

Re: Impossible to get through to you

I think it may have settled down now. I'll try that if the problem comes back.
