How long does it take to "check the line" and "place the order"

I had to have an engineer come out and verify that I had an actual phoneline in my house before I could sign up for broadband.
After Openreach confirmed that I did have I phoneline and that it was working correctly a few days ago my PlusNet account shows that we are still "checking your line" and haven't yet "placed your order"
I have received my router and my landline is working.
How long does this normally take as my current mobile broadband contract is about to expire
