Re: FTTP installed today but no router has been sent?

Looks like I may be in the market for a new router

The Hub 2 that's on its way should be fine, especially since ..

I have UniFi access points for WiFi, so currently don’t use the router for WiFi, all turned off.

Re: FTTP installed today but no router has been sent?

We’ll see… I like the fact I can add extra functionality into my router… advert/spam site blocking, OpenVPN server, has an api to extract data into my home automation platform to take action on etc….

Maybe a next gen ASUS (no learning curve for me) or something that supports openWRT (learning to do)….

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

This is a good one to have a look at

https://amzn.eu/d/6osasfk

Openwrt is the base os, which you can get access too if you want to dabble

If you're looking at the Flint 2 (linked above), then it's also worth considering waiting a few weeks for a Flint 3.

As @bobpullen posted, look at the flint3, especially at the price £119.30, which is a great deal.

Might be tempted myself!

Spec looks good on paper, only problem is its a Qualcomm QCA 50xx SoC which means its not likely to get official OpenWrt support in the short term.

Be careful to check the specs, not everything is an upgrade versus Flint 2.

The GL.Inet GUI/feature set is pretty decent even without the vanilla OpenWRT support. I've one of their Beryl AX travel routers for when I'm out of the country and it's fab. Also have a Flint 3 to play around with and it's good, but some corners have been cut with the hardware (understandable for the price) e.g. it's superior to the Hub Two in terms of standards but has fewer antenna.
