Do I take a chance on Engineer turning up

I have ordered a phone line install and Broadband at my second home 50 miles away. No confirmation of engineer visit, do I take a chance on engineer turning up at my first choice which is tomorrow morning, wait for his call and then drive for over an hour. This does not bode well for me staying as a customer. Been waiting in a queue for 40 mins on phone after 3days with no answer on chat. Not looking good.

If there's an existing OpenReach master socket, probably won't need to enter your premises.

There is nothing but a telephone wire to a very old box fixed to the facia. That is why the engineer is coming to connect a new phone line
