Date of first price increase

Hi.

Plusnet's website says prices will be increasing by £4 from £22.99 to £26.99 on 31 March 2026, then £30.99 from 31 March 2027.

My Plusnet Basket pdf states "Your monthly cost is £22.99 for 24 months, then £31.99 thereafter."

Why the apparent discrepancy?

Re: Date of first price increase

@MDH38

It does sound confusing, doesn't it.

What it means, I think, is that the normal price for the package you've chosen is currently £31.99 per month but for each month of your 2 year contract you get a discount of £9, so will pay only £22.99. However, the price you actually pay will increase on 31 March each year by £4 (as does everybody's), so it will be £26.99 from next March. You'll still be getting the discount, as the normal package price will increase to £35.99. Then, when your contract comes to an end after two years and your discount disappears, you look for a new contract which carries its own discount.

That's my understanding, anyway.

Re: Date of first price increase

Thank you for your explanation. I read the basket pdf as meaning that the £22.99 is fixed until 2027.

@MDH38

Somewhere in the Terms and Conditions you'll find a note about annual price increases.

I believe you are told about the actual increases when you sign up.

Re: Date of first price increase

Hi @ColinDC

I can understand the confusion with seeing different information.

The advice from @ColinDC is correct, you'll have a £31.99 plan with a monthly discount during the contracted period, so through to 2027, but it would be subject to annual price increases of £4 on 31st March each year.
