@Enceladus42 Is your supply overhead or underground? The chances are your FTTP connection will follow the same route, but you can discuss your options with the installer on the day. 'Pre-visits' are unlikely, especially given the short notice period.

Thanks ![]()
Current supply is overground, and where i'd like the install is not too far from where the line is attached to the property.
Hopefully this should be ok for the installer then?

As you are presumably 'overhead' rather than 'overground', the usual positioning of the external connection (CSP) is at or near ground level on the same wall as your current connection comes in - the usual positioning of the ONT (internal connection) is straight through that wall. After that, what is practical needs to be discussed with the installer before he starts work.
NOTE that there must be a power socket within 1m of the ONT.

As already stated, you speak to the installer on the day to agree the work to be done.
If the want the external box on the same wall as the line is currently attached to the property and there is a power source inside for the ONT then you should be OK. Going round a corner may, or may not, be acceptable. Just explain what you want to do internally to get the best position for the ONT.
The router is connected via ethernet cable so that helps.
Unfortunately you just won't know until the day of install. This rules out doing any pre-work.

It may be a bit late now but I got a pre visit (before installation of the ONT but after installation of the external box) I believe because I replied 'ACCESS' to the original fibre installation text from Openreach. I did this because I too had installation concerns. In fact the external people arrived only a day or so later to slap the grey box on an external wall - subject to my approval.
The installation of the ONT was much delayed, by Openreach not me, and a presumably pre visit engineer turned up unannounced one day (just to assess the situation?) and installed the ONT on the spot as, in the event, he saw it was going to be simple. This caused some confusion all round and the installed ONT remained inactive for some more weeks before a third engineer turned up by appointment to "install your fibre broadband" - which, in the circumstances, took him about 10 minutes.
