Re: Broadband delays - 17 days and counting

Especially when you consider I already had broadband for a number of years with my previous supplier (BT).  I don't understand why its now necessary to install a whole new phone line (which is what the engineer is coming out to do).

Re: Broadband delays - 17 days and counting

New phone line, new phone number.  Called PlusNet to ask if I could be switched back to my old number, but apparently this would cause civilisations to fall and the earth to spin off its axis and send us all screaming into space.  PlusNet went off to speak to their supervisor, promising a 15 minute callback that never came.  I felt reluctant to queue on the phone for another 12 minutes so that I could start all over again.

Still waiting for PlusNet to fulfil the order.......

Re: Broadband delays - 17 days and counting

Hi there, I can't see why we'd refuse to even try a number import so I'll look into that. We'll be able to give that a try when the order has gone through so I'll make sure we come back to that for you. - Adam

It was James I spoke to yesterday if that helps.

Re: Broadband delays - 17 days and counting

Hi, everything has been working fine for several weeks now.  Today I got an automated message from BT's technical department saying that they are going to terminate my internet line.  I hope this is my old line and not my new one.

Hi @Skeadugenga

I can't see anything on our systems regarding this. If you line was going to be terminated the message would come from ourselves as we are your ISP and would give you 28 days notice prior to this.

How did you receive this message?

Thanks

Re: Broadband delays - 17 days and counting

It was an automated message left on my answerphone.  It said that the call was from the BT technical department - I've pretty much quoted it in my post above.

Re: Broadband delays - 17 days and counting

It's more than likely a scam call and I wouldn't worry about it as I can't see any requests to cease your line.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
