Broadband activation

My activation date for my broadband was 19th Jan but when I go on my account to see what's happening it just says there's been a delay with the installation and Plusnet will let me know when it's sorted but I just don't know what's going on and I've got 4 kids in the house driving me nuts with no internet 😂

Re: Broadband activation

@djones2503 Sounds like another BT/OR 'issue' - the chances are PN will know no more than you have been told. Is this a totally new installation, and what is it for - FTTC or FTTP?

Re: Broadband activation

No I've migrated from BT so no engineer visit required apparently

Re: Broadband activation

So - you are still using your BT connection - is it FTTC or FTTP?

Re: Broadband activation

That sounds odd - my understanding is that a working connection (BT) would remain active until it successfully got moved to a new one (PN).

Re: Broadband activation

Well yeah that's what I thought but BT got disconnected just after 12am on Friday and I'm just left with nothing 🙄

Re: Broadband activation

A change of ISP where an existing FTTP service is installed just requires BT Wholesale to 'rebuild' the connection routing to the new ISP. There's been a couple of occasions recently where they don't seem to have managed to do that correctly...

Re: Broadband activation

Oh ok 🙈 is this something that could take a while? Should I contact Plusnet or just wait it out?

Re: Broadband activation

Contact Plusnet but probably best in the morning, as they wont be able to contact BT wholesale or Openreach today

Wait until one of them says they're bored and tell them you have a solution..... get the board games out. Show them how to play chess or monopoly or something like that🤣

Joking aside, if you have a decent mobile data plan, you could tether a tablet or laptop to it and get them watching stuff that way.
