I recently sent a referral to a friend of mine and he has joined plusnet. when do I get paid?

As long as they added your username to the signup, or followed the link in the email you will get monthly credits against your bill every month once the customer has done a full months subscription.
All referrals are paid in arears.
The other offer of a one of payment would stand as long as the customer is still with us 90 days after activation as long as they sign up before the 30th of September.
