i am now on hold again, and have been for 40 minutes.

Re: impossible to leave

Hi there,
Sorry to hear that you're leaving and also that you haven't been able to get through.
You can write to us by post to: Plusnet, The Balance, 2 Pinfold St. Sheffield, S1 2GU
Have you managed to get though to our customer options team?

What a great response from an internet company! We are incapable of handling cancellations via electronic methods, so please write us a letter!  (and then we can argue that you are no longer within your 10 days by the time it gets here)

Re: impossible to leave

I'd assume that the postmark (date of posting) should be taken as the date of notification (that's how many businesses work), worst case I assume you sent the letter 'recorded delivery' so you should be able to find out when it was received.

Yes, I can confirm that to be the case,  I understand it might seem an inconvenience. Sorry to hear that you guys are wanting to cancel, let us know if there's any issues we can assist you with that have pushed you into wanting to move away from us.

Re: impossible to leave

The inconvenience is not being able to request a MAC with a ticket. And yes, I know you are doing the [strong]bare minimum[/strong] as required by OFCOM.
Maybe you're not actually confident enough in your own products to make it easy for customers to leave?
