Why is there a cessation charge activated in my account?

I finished the initial 18 month contract and extended 12 months, that extension runs out at the end of this month and I want to change provider. I don't see why this charge is on my account as it's end of contract.

@ado1

It's on everyones account. It is not activated if you leave at the end of your contract.

Re: Why is there a cessation charge activated in my account?

Fix

Hi @ado1

A cessation charge is a legacy fee we used to charge for cancelling a broadband service pre-September 2018. Even though it may still be showing in your account, we won't actually charge you this if you leave.

As far as I'm aware we're in the process of making things a little more modern in the Member Centre pages, so the page that shows the cessation charge on may be updated or replaced in due course.

If you're not in contract then we won't charge you an early termination fee.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
