Why has my fixed contract price increased mid year?

Surely a fixed contract is a fixed contract - plan went up 50p in July - what's the point being offered deals to stay with Plusnet - and then the deal is reneged on? Shoddy - very shoddy - and misleading practice.

Unfortunately with some businesses the "contract" only seems to apply to the customer.

Maybe they should stop using the word "contract" and call it what it is, a loose agreement.

Re: Why has my fixed contract price increased mid year?

Just raised the same thing as a complaint. Had a fairly snotty live chat agent tell me "it's in the terms". Well, I'd allege those are unfair terms or indeed something material which should be pointed out when the contract is agreed.

How about: "sir, we'd like to offer you 12 months' free Anytime Calls, but only if we do not increase the price, in which case, you will pay the difference".

The word "free" is unequivocal and well defined in the dictionary; hopefully the ombudsman will agree with me if it gets that far.

We are talking pennies, but I'll push it as far as necessary.
